I have joined Twitter, but have not used it for advertising yet. I am sitting back and learning how others are doing it for now, to see what works and what doesn't. Does anyone have a story to share of how they advertised on Twitter and it worked for their business?
I use Facebook, twitter and Linkedin. However I enjoy using facebook. I use it to network with friends and also make new connections. I created a business page which is seperate from my personal page and I use that page to market about my industry, give tips on the industries that I specialize and even just post some informative links.
Stacey, I am going to send you a friend request. I would love to view your page on facebook to see how you are using it to market your business. Could you send me the facebook name of your page via a private message? Thanks.
Hello 407 family. My wife and business partner Nicole utilize most of the 2.0 websites to promote our business and products. Mostly the business though. The biggest reason is because of technology changes (remember there used to be a pay phone on every corner. Now everyone has a cell phone, even the children) and secondly, back in November we did a Google search and in that month, that was the largest number of lay-offs in a very long time and with that over 2.5 million searches for "home-based business" was conducted in that one month alone! People are searching for opportunities, and NOT in the newspaper. They are looking on-line! We write blogs, use multiple-ning sites, you tube, my space and others to reach as many people that are looking for us as we possibly can. We firmly believe in The Law of Attraction! There are millions of people looking for increased health and better financial situations and we are in a position to help with both. We WILL attract those looking for something better, and the social sites will multiply our and your efforts if utilized on a consiostent basis. We are signed up with Twitter but have had no results from it as of yet. www.MyBreakthrough.net
Thanks for sharing! Which of these sites is working best for your business? blogs, youtube, myspace, ning sites... and why do you think it is working for your biz?
This really was an interesting article. Thanks for posting it. I went to a seminar about Twitter just this week, and am poised on the brink of starting a Twitter account. I was interested that the author advises using your real name for your Twitter name, instead of a business name. Do you find as a Twitterer that you prefer real names?
I prefer my real name, but when I registered my account Michelle Torres and M. Torres were taken. So I have mine listed under 'chellitorres'. The reason I prefer it this way is so that I do not have to have 2 separate accounts, one for business and one for personal. I am branding myself, not my company. It is a more personal approach to advertising. However, many businesses have their business name as their twitter account and are very successful. It really comes down to what you prefer individually, but thanks for asking.
